Guest guest
Happy two year old birthday Abby - be good and have fun!! Thank you everyone who has wished Abby a happy bday. BUT unfortunately it has been anything but HAPPY....she's just been horrible today!!! I'm so frustrated. She had been so good for a couple weeks and bang, she flipped the switch back to rotten this morning. I took her grocery shopping w/me like usual. She loves shopping with me (as long as it isn't the mall!). So the second we got inside she thrashed & threw her fit in the cart, then proceeded to throw her sippy cup which of course hit some poor innocent man!! I was so embarrassed. She then threw a fit during EVERY aisle I turned into, then emptied an entire shelf of fiddle faddle onto the floor. I picked all 20 boxes back up, then she grabbed one from my hand & whipped across the aisle is utter anger.! OMG - I couldn't get out of that store fast enough!! So I had to bring my hubby lunch a bit later, we go to 's, get into 's work where she again throws a fit then whipped her sippy cup again! Man, that thing can do some damage! Thank goodness she's napping now, but wowza. The terrible 2's have come in with a HUGE bang! I swear I'd rather go thru labor all over again w/o an epidural, that was much less painful than my day thus far - it's only noon!!! Hoping she'll be better for her big bday party tomorrow afternoon at Piper Pizza - Clifford theme of course. Thanks again! Guest guest
Sorry to hear about the birthday grouch. At least you'll have a funny story when she is older. Yesterday my 2 year old took crayons and paper to the dog and said " Flower, draw pictures. " Then she got mad that Flower didn't obey and started throwing a tantrum. The dog looked so confused. It was so hard not to laugh. She was really mad that the dog wasn't coloring! Tomorrow will be a better day! > Happy two year old birthday Abby - be good and have fun!! > > Thank you everyone who has wished Abby a happy bday. Guest guest
OMG - the next time I'm grumpy or stressed out, I'm just going to email you & ask for one of your daughter's stories! They always crack me up & put a huge grin on my face. She sounds SO stinking cute, now if only Abby would get to that stage! I just got off the phone with my older sister, who is preparing her 5 yr old daughter's 2 stuffed animal dogs to be married. She had to curl 's hair for her, put her dress on, and make her a bouquet as she was the dog's flower girl! Ahhhhh, I can't wait for those things to happen with Abby. Guest guest
Well I am VERY happy to report, Abby's attitude has definitely improved. Last night when hubby got home, he put her in time out in her crib for a few mins.. Well the next thing we know, Abby is standing in front of us in our living room with a huge grin & says " hi " .....OH NO, that met she climbed out of her crib for the first time !!!!!!!!!!! After that she was much happier & much more tolerable!!! I'm just thankful she didn't hurt herself climbing out of the crib, but now it looks like time for a big girl bed for the 2 yr old. I'm really surprised she didn't climb out already, she's such a good climber on everything else! She slept fine in her crib last night though, but I kept waking up making sure she was still in it and not awake watching a video of Clifford at 3 am! So I'm hoping she is well behaved for her party this afternoon. It snowed bad here last night so she's all excited about that (not me). I had a dream one night that had crawled out of her bed and when I went to check on her I couldn't find her. I looked all around and finally found her sitting in the family watching Bear in the Big Blue House!!! This reminded me of that dream - I can just picture Abby kicking back in her Lazyboy chair watching Clifford. LOL - too funny!!! Wow - I guess it is time for the big girl bed! is switching to the big girl bed at the beginning of April. Marci

Marci: LOL, I have several pics of Abby sitting in her little rocking chair with her feet up on HER footstool, sippy cup in hand, and of course her blankie watching HER TV It is so funny! I'm so scared to switch her into a toddler bed, I finally have her sleeping so well. Maybe I'll let you put in her big girl bed first & see how she does, she can be my guinea pig . Guest guest
Debbie - We switched Olivia to a toddler bed when she was 20 months old. We were going to get a twin, but thought a toddler bed would be more comforting and you can use the crib mattress. We got her this bed: http://www.step2company.com/playline/childfurniture.html (click on snooze 'n cruise bed) You can get it at Toys 'R Us or Babies 'R Us. We think the roof makes it comforting to her. She has only ever gotten out of bed once during the night and that was when she had a super bad nightmare. We figured she would be runing around the house because she was always climbing out of the crib, but we haven't had those issues. She isn't a big fan of napping, but she will at least spend some quiet time in there during the day. It might only be 10 minutes. You can put bumper stickers on it too! Just thought you might want to know.... > I can just picture Abby kicking > back in her Lazyboy chair watching Clifford.
