Guest guest
Hi Ken and others -- Since I'm relatively new to this list and haven't been following treatments for some time, I'm not exactly sure what is " experimental " treatments nowadays. I tried what was available in 1990 -- so much has changed by then. For example, when I tried Kutapressin in 1990, it was most assuredly experimental as most things were then but not sure if it is now. And in some cases, something I might consider not experimental my doctor may because it's not mainstream, such as supplements. Is there a source for a quick version of what's what? I know it may not exist but if it does, great. If not, I'm educating myself as fast as I can. In fact, to bring myself up-to-speed, I've gone to the first post for the experimental site and am reading post-by-post. Of course, that would take a fair amount of time but it is very helpful and educational. To the issue of what's experimental, what's not, there's a number of things that are listed in the 1999 posts I'm wondering about in terms of the current thinking or status: * Ampligen * Interferon * Transfer Factor * Mannatech products * Kutapressin * RNase-l * ImmunePro Thanks, Laurel MODERATOR: Treatment centric .... Discussing shampoos for hair and dying may be helpful for some members -- but this is very much off topic. As a reminder for NEW MEMBERS --- this group is * EXPERIMENTAL TREATMENT orientated.... and that means it is not about *conventional* treatment that is generally known and practised by MD's familar with CFIDS. It can be tempting to try doing everything on one board... CFSFM Experimental is NOT the board to do it on. This group is intended for those that have gone thru 2,3,4,5 or more conventional treatment without success. If you are new to treatment issues, there are many good books out there. I am about to create a seperate list CFSFMNONEXPERIMENTAL http://groups. <CFSFMNonExperimental> /group/CFSFMNonExperimental This is an offshoot from for discussion by those doing non-EXPERIMENTAL treatments - for example, From Fatigue to Fantastic by Dr. Teitelbaum , or doing Fibromyalgia & Fatigue Centers, Inc.
