Guest guest
Leana that is so wonderful. It is so disappointing that there are physicians out there who are not aware of alternative treatment. I am so glad for you and your daughter that you were well informed. Things will move quickly from here- I cannot wait to hear about the progress. We will keep our fingers crossed for a smooth casting. Good luck! Guest guest
leana, Your English is very good. Actually probably better then mine and its my only language. Good luck on Monday with your daughters casting. My daughter just had her casting on the 19th and will get her band on March 6. Good luck once you get her band. I hope it works for her, I am sure it will atleast improve her head. Im sorry that you were told the only way to fix her head was by surgery. I agree with you about surgery. I could not see putting my baby girl through that. Good luck to you and your daughter!! Guest guest
Leana, It sounds like you did all the right things. You pushed for the prescription and I think that was the right thing to do. Thirteen months is not too late to start. We have a number of parents here who started that late and got great results - I'm sure you will hear from a number of them. It's great that they got you in so quick - they understand the importance of timing! Good for you for pushing for this - I think you will see some good correction and will be very happy with your decision. Good luck with the casting next week - let us know how it goes. Marci (mom to ) Oklahoma By the way - I thought your English was EXCELLENT!!
Guest guest
Hi Naydu, The casting isn't fun but my son was easily distracted with a lollipop. You may want to try that. Good luck Deb w Aidan doc grad 2/5 Casting on Monday Hello everyone - After a lot of research and interviewing a few orthotists here in the ton, SC area I've decided to make the trek up to Charlotte, NC (4 hours away!) to get the Docband for Madeleine. The folks I talked to down here work for Floyd Brace and fit the Starband. While I've heard good things about them I felt the evaluation process was so much better up north - not to mention with Maddy being so late in the game (16 months, yikes) I really feel like I should use the docband, which so many people on this board seem happy with. I don't have the luxury of time (not that anyone here does!) if something goes wrong. So we're off to get casted on Monday and I'm dreading it - I think the process is even more painful for older babies who are more aware of what's going on. I'll let eveyone know how it goes - and thanks for all the support as I was trying to make my decision between the doc and starbands.Naydu, mother of Madeleiene, 16 monthsMt.
