Guest guest
Staci & Adam and the entire group, CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My son, (14 mos on March 25th), also graduated from his STARband on Friday, March 8th (a total of 7 mos in his band)!! His orthotist still wants him to wear his band when he is sleeping and for naps for a little while longer (his soft spot is still open enough to get a bit more correction when he can – he got approx. 90% correction – YIPPEE!), but he is now “helmet free” the rest of the time!!! We all are soooooo excited!! My story is about the same as yours (everyone on here has heard it before) – ped saying his head would “round out when he is starts sitting up and moving around” My husband and I thought something was wrong even at his 1 month check-up but was told from his ped that there was nothing wrong!!! – disgusting, huh!!!! was was dx with torticollis in July 2001(6 mos.) and banded 3 days shy of his 7 mo. B-day (08/22/01). He was dx after we went to see a neurologist at Children’s Hosptial in Pittsburgh (on our own – with the referral getting to him after the first appt.) His tort is now resolved, PT is staying with him until he is walking steadily on his own. He can now walk across the room by himself – like a little “enstein” – but nonetheless he is still doing it on his own!!! This group and the tort group have been awesome and, I too, will stay around for quite a while!!! I am just sooo frustrated with how the majority of the peds handle tort/plagio!! If I can be of any help to any other member, at any time, it would certainly give me some peace to know that I was able to do something for some one else. I have attached some pics of – his 1 year photos – we are soooo proud of him!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Good-luck to you and Adam, and to everyone else who has to go through the plagio/tort experience. Just remember – there is a light at the end of that tunnel!!! I want to thank everyone for all of the support/advice I have received throughout this entire time. Take care, I will stick around too. J J!! AnnMarie & (13 mos.) J STAR graduate -- (can’t believe I finally get to say that!!! J)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! is subject to the Terms of Service.
