Hi Everyone,

Just wanted to let you all know that Riley has gotten his helmet, and I must say he looks awfully cute in it...Its got a Patriots logo on the back!! What can I say, we're from Boston and we did just win the Superbowl. Anyway, just as everyone said, he has adjusted very easily to wearing it. the Orthotist told us to wean him into it, but he hardly seemed to notice it, so we put him to sleep in it the first night and he did fine. After 2 days I swear his head is already rounder!! Our next step will be going out in public and dealing with questions and funny looks. Any suggestions on witty comebacks to rude comments that I'm sure will come?

We go back in 2 weeks for an adjustment...so far so good! As for the Head Pickers...I think my husband is a member. He just looked at the cover of the new "Good Housekeeping" and decided that Faith Hill has one eye higher than the other...Not back company, if you ask me!

We'll keep everyone posted. I'm still wondering if anyone else is in the Boston area and their impressions of NOPCO.

Michele (Mom to Riley 8mo.)

I never got any outright rude comments, however, when people would stare I

would say, " She's cute isn't she " and laugh. People would react one of two

ones. They would either agree and strike up a conversation in which I could

usually explain the helmet or they would agree and get the heck away from me!

Either way I got a complimet on how gorgeous my girl is! LOL!! Rude comments

were fortunately something I did not have to deal with. Any comments I did

get were usually ignorant and I took the chance to educate some Oklahomans on

the dangers of plagio!

Good luck with the new helmet. Sounds like things are going GREAT so far!!

That's good news. Keep us posted!

As far as comments? Oh my gosh! I was so surprised to get so many

compliments! My son has been in his band now for two months. I've even had

moms come up to us at the mall to ask where they can get one for their child.

I also dress him in a hockey jersey. He looks like a little hockey player.

No big thing, really.

P.S. Go Patriots!!!!

Michele,

I am from southern New Hampshire (on the MA border) and my 8 month old son Evan wears a helmet made by Nopco and he has the Patriots logo on the back also. We have been very pleased with the results so far and Evan has no problem wearing it. He has had it for a little over a month. As for the questions and funny looks, we had a couple of people that gave us the worry look when they first saw him, thinking something bad happened, but when I told them about the plagio, they were fine. I've never felt anyone was staring at him in the stores and actually saw another helmeted baby in Walmart the other day. This was the first baby I ever saw with a helmet before Evan was diagnosed.

Take Care,

R

and Michele -

My son Reid (4 1/2 months) went to nopco yesterday and we are waiting

on the helmut. What were your impressions of nopco? I have no idea

what the helmut is going to look like and if they are reputable or

not. I'm a little nervous I was only familar with Cranial Tech. and

I'm wondering if I should have gone there.

Thanks in advance -

P.S. we are considering the pats logo as well and would love to see

what it looks like if you have pictures. Much Thanks

Sue
