Guest guest
Hi, all. I did go to the final day of the Multiple Chemical Sensitivities Case Definition Workshop today. I'm pretty blown out, so I won't write a detailed report tonight. I just want to say that I thought it came out better than I had hoped it would. The working groups really buckled down and cooperated and worked out compromises, so that they came up with a pretty good draft for the case definition. It's a clinical case definition, which is what I had hoped they would develop, since I don't think enough is known to write a very tight research definition. So I was happy about that. The groups presented their output this morning, and then there was more discussion from everyone present, and suggestions were made for changes. It ended up with a committee of ten people who have agreed to consider the suggestions and then come up with a final document that will be sent out to the participants for comment again, and then finalized and published. This may take a couple of years, but I do think a good foundation has been built, and a good product should come out of it. I learned that the CDC was invited to send representatives to the workshop, but they did not do so. More later. Rich

Good. They screw up everything they touch. Typical of their not giving a crap, but better in the long run.
