Guest guest
Dana, At this point I would say you need to go with what your mommy instinct is telling you. If you feel very strongly about having her seen by CT then I say go and do it! They should be able to recommend a doctor that might be band friendly. I think their website also has a list of DOCband friendly doctors some of whom might be in your more immediate area. Also, the DOC people are very good about giving you an honest opinion about the need for treatment. Of course, this is just my opinion, but if feel as strongly about it as you seem to from your post I think you should take further action of your own. Good luck - I can only imagine how difficult this decision must be for you. Marci (Mom to ) oklahoma
Guest guest
I had to take Jenna to the doctor today because she has been sick. We had an appointment tomorrow for a consult regarding her plagio, but discussed it today since we were there anyway. For the second time, we were told it will work itself out. I'm so frustrated I feel like crying. I don't know what to do at this point. I understand that Jenna's plagio is mild, but I seem to be the only one that is unwilling to take the chance that it will fix itself. I don't want her head to stay the way it is. Should I call Cranial Tech, even though they are 6 hours away, and see if we can get an evaluation? Would they then be willing to recommend someone to us that we could take her to for the prescription. I could really use some advice. I also have the choice of taking her up to my parents in NY, there is a family friend who is a doctor that is willing to speak to a pediatric neurologist about seeing Jenna up there. Guest guest
Dear Dana, I am sorry for everything you are going through right now. I don't understand why they won't help you and that unsettles me to no end. I am praying for you and your baby. I think you should call Cranial Tech and see what they can do and if they won't help you than I would have your family friend doctor call that neurologist so you can get the help your baby needs. I am thinking of you. Sincerely,
Guest guest
Dana: My heart goes out to you. We had a similar situation...and I did call Cranial Technologies and ask for a physician's name. (They post a list of physicians on their web site.) We actually got an appointment in the morning at Children's Hospital in the morning, pled our case and our desire to correct 's head, and were seen at CT that afternoon. Chicago is 6 hrs away from Cleveland, so I also understand the distance thing. If you feel in your gut that you need to pursue this, go for it. Better to have exhausted some resources now (through travel and time) than to wait so long that correction is not as easily obtained. You will not regret the decision to at least get a plagio experienced/qualified opinion.
