Guest guest
Just what I need. My blood sugar, which has been tending towards borderline for the past couple years, is now edging up into the threshold of diabetes. (Insert juicy curse words of your choice here). I've been taking large doses of Diaxinol <http://www.drhoffman.com/ page.cfm/274> the past year (FFC put me on it), and a few other herbal things. But they don't seem to be doing the job any more. I'm going in for a glucose tolerance test in the next few weeks, and expect it to confirm a diagnosis of diabetes. So I've got a few questions.... 1) How might the ME disease process create (or mitigate) diabetes? Is there some interaction here that's making me more susceptible? (Yes, of course, if I could exercise, I almost certainly wouldn't be here. But beyond that.) 2) What special nuances are there to managing diabetes in conjunction with CFS? 3) What are the odds that something like Yasko, which improves metabolism over the long term, might reverse the situation? 4) What alternative treatments has anybody used that actually did something useful? I'm close enough to the line right now that a good alternative treatment might buy me quite a bit more margin -- but the woods are full of snake-oil salesmen, and I'm pretty dubious about most of what I'm finding so far. How about Chinese medicine...? Thanks for your thoughts... Sara
