Hi :

I sure don't miss that stinky helmet smell! Uggg, it drove me

crazy. Check out this link for some tips:

http://www.plagiocephaly.org/support/faq.htm

I also would use Leave In Hair Detangler, I sprayed it on Abby's hair

and it had such a nice fruity scent to it, it would sometimes help

cover up the bad helmet odors!

How's Jonathon doing in his band? Improving I hope!

,

Check with your ortho and see if its ok to use cornstarch on the

band. My twins wore their bands during the summer and their bands

got real stinky at times. My ortho gave us the ok to use cornstarch

inside the band, which helped absorb some of the sweat, and it really

helped with the smell. Definitely leave it in the sun for the hour

off, that helps tremendously. Since we used ours during hot weather,

I cheated and would leave it off for two hours. Once after they woke

up for the day and again after they woke up from their naps, and I

would shampoo them each time the band came off. Also, when you give

Jonathon a bath, shampoo his hair first and then leave it sit until

the end of the bath, that way the shampoo scent is stronger. We used

Loreal for Kids Watermelon Shampoo, and I think I remember some

others here have used the Cherry shampoo. Hope this helps!
