Guest guest
Hi Christy & welcome to our group! We're happy you have found us. Is currently attending Physical Therapy to help with her torticollis? A lot of our members children have or had tort., I'm sure they will offer you good advice with that. My daughter did not have tort. Torticollis is a leading contributer to plagio. Has already had a CTscan or xrays done to rule out craniosynostosis? You said you were in the process of ruling that out. > 1. What are members' experiences with the doc band? A) I cannot say enough great things about the DOCband. My daughter who had severe plagio didn't begin her DOC treatment til she was 11.5 mos old, she wore one band for 4.5 mos & we were still able to achieve very good correction. > > 2. A) I think I have read of at least 2 members who have used the soft helmet, but I cannot remember hearing if they were felt it helped their child's plagio or head shape at all. > > 3. Is there anyone in the group in my area?? A) Nope, I live in Michigan Again, welcome to our group. Please be sure to keep us updated on 's progress and what her cranio results are. Guest guest
Hi Christy- I am a little behind cheking the boards so I just noticed your post. My son Owen is going to be 1 on April 2nd and has been in the DOC band since 12/5. We live 1/2 away from Charlotte in Concord, NC and go the Cranial Tech clinic in Charlotte. They are wonderful!!!! We have nothing but nice things to say about all the OT/PT's there. It is easy to get and an apt. and convenient for us. Owen has positional plagio and will hopefully graduate from his DOC band soon ( maybe by the middle of April !) The only bad thing about our experience has been fighting CIGNA for payment. We are in the final phase called an external review and are a tiny bit hopeful we can get our $3K refunded. If you would like to chat please call me (704) 721-3289 or email me at owensmom42@... since I don't check my too often.
