Guest guest
Dear , Thank you for the information you shared with us. It is encouraging to hear that someone fought BCBS and won! I am not sure what kind of BCBS we have (you mentioned Anthem). I never knew till the other day that different companies admister the policies (apparently with different coverages or something). The whole insurance thing is so crazy. I am anxious to get the ball rolling. How often do you have to come to Charlotte? Where in Virginia do you drive from? What a huge commitment, you are a really great Mom! How long is expected to be in his band? Let me know the next time you are coming, I would love to meet you! Our direct email is Bakerfour@.... Christy Baker Mom to (4 months) Jack (2 years) Kaitlyn (7 years) -- Re: Twins approval from Blue Cross Blue Shield of Alabama-Christy Christy, I have Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield. It took 4-months to get the treatment "covered". We went through the intial denial, level 1 appeal, level 2 appeal, and finally it was overturned in the external review board just a few days ago. Go figure. I would think it would cost the insurance companies so much more to go through all this..but oh well. After the intial shock, my husband and I decided to wait for the official letter and wait until it is actually paid to celebrate. Never know what they will do. I really did not do anything extrodinary. I did what everybody else did. ANthem has a strict policy regarding the DOC Band .....I really did not have a chance with my insurance company because they have a written in stone policy about the DOC Band. I had everybody (all doctors pt, ect..) write letters and used the information that Cranial Technologies sent to me, and some I found on the net. s Mom to Virginia Seen by CT of Charlotte Banded since 1-10-02. Twins approval from Blue Cross Blue Shield of Alabama I have only posted a couple of times here over the past two weeks. I just thought that I would let everyone know that we found out today that BCBS has determined that the DOC Band treatment is a medical necessity for of our twins and will cover the treatment 100%! Unfortunately we waited too long to aggressively pursue this option as our pediatrican told us that their heads would eventually "round out". The twins are now one year old, however we are going ahead with the treatment and are hoping for some positive results. I will let you know how things progress. We begin next week!Dad of twins Shane and For more plagio info
