Guest guest
Hi everyone, Just wanted to let everyone know that we have made a decision to helmet . I can't tell you how many times I have changed my mind since he saw the specialist on March 6. Will we do it? Is it necessary? Will it round out? He saw his OT today for the last time (yeah). She felt there was some definate improvement but to be honest..I haven't seen much. Funny, I thought I would be relieved now that we made the decision but now I just feel scared. Dana (mom to ) Ont. Guest guest
Dana: I'm sure this was a difficult decision for you to come to, but now you can rest assured that you have made up your mind & will go ahead with the helmet. I'm sure you'll never regret it. Are you going to go with a DOCband? I know you said it would require major traveling, but I also know there aren't as many options in Canada as US. Thanks for the update & please let us know when his casting is! Debbie Abby's mom DOCgrad MI > Hi everyone, > Just wanted to let everyone know that we have made a decision to > helmet . Guest guest
Hi Dana, yes we were there on the 6th too. Our appointment was at 9:15am but we were there until after 1pm with pictures and having Maddy's eyes checked. Guess we could have seen each other but not have known it! We are currently waiting an appointment for a CT scan since they want to conclusively rule out cranio. I guess we'll be making a decision on the helmet too after that in the next month. I also have the same concern as you, Maddy has been sitting for several months and spends very little time on the back of her head during the day and i don't think we've seen any improvement so far. Perhaps the repositioning we've been doing for the past two weeks at night will make a difference though... maybe? Think of it this way though, the helmet really can't do any harm right? And it will certainly make you feel better since you will be doing more to help . Can you keep me updated on how the casting goes at the hospital and any other info you get from the doctors there? Good luck and good growing to , Darcy > Hi everyone, > Just wanted to let everyone know that we have made a decision to > helmet . Guest guest
Dana, I doubt you will ever regret having put in the helmet. It is a stressful period of adjustment, but you will be amazed at how quickly adjusts - and you too! Making the decision to do it is one of the hardest steps. Stick with us and let us know how we can help! We're here to support you! Marci (Mom to ) Oklahoma
Guest guest
Debbie: No we won't be going with a doc band (although I probably would if there was a facility close to me). We will be getting a locally made helmet for . Keep your fingers crossed that we see some rounding. What really made the decision for me was I had taken pictures of in Jan. and in March. Just by looking, I can see no change. This surprised me. If I had to add up all the time he was actually on his flat spot it would probably be less than an hr. a day. I can't really say what he does when he sleeps but everytime I check on him he is on his side or belly. We don't have an appt. yet for a casting. Hopefully they can fit us in soon. I am eager to get this started. Take care. Dana Dana > > Hi everyone, > > Just wanted to let everyone know that we have made a decision to > > helmet .
