Sounds like you might have low GSH combined with digestive dysbiosis.

That is a pretty low dose of salt, but probably enough to kill some

digestive bugs and trigger die-off, and in the process trigger some

immune activation. All good things really, but you need to ramp up

slowly to stay within your tolerance. The RDA of salt is a heaping

half teaspoon (about 2.5g). I doubt you are harming yourself with

your dose (around 1g), but you might feel pretty miserable as you

clear out some bad bugs. If you continue the dose you shouuld feel

better after a few days or maybe longer. IF you take vitamin C with

the salt, (the salt/c protocol), you may improve your GSH status, as C

can recycle GSH if the single dose is high enough. For me right now

that dose is about a half teaspoon of C crystals (about 2g). But I

had to work up to that dose, initially I was like you, and had to

start with low doses. Initially I could only handle 1/8 tsp of vit C,

or the equivalent (about 500 mg).

After using salt/c for over two years, I came to the conclusion that

its primary mechanism was to help recycle GSH and at the same time

kill off gram-negative bugs in the digestive tract. That is a good

combination.

If you are interested in this approach, somewhat different from

Cheney's homebrew, you might check out some of the salt/c sites. I

list them on a blog post:

http://kurtsprotocol.blogspot.com/2005/05/review-of-several-salt-based-protocols\

..html

The list Salt-n-C is probably a better place to discuss salt/c than

here...

Also, I could not tolerate as much potassium as Cheney advocated, in

fact, I can not understand why he has people with low adrenals using

so much potassium salt, as that strains the adrenals. So I don't take

much extra potassium directly, just small amounts.
