Guest guest
Are you sinuses plugged up when you lay down? Try the breathe right strips to open your nose if this is so. When I can't breathe through my nose (like when I have a cold) my body panics and I have a hard time getting enough air until I breathe deeply through my mouth several times; I can't take pseudephredine (sp?) drugs as they make me fidgety but antihistamines work for me as long as there is no decongestant. Also, I now have bronchial asthma as a result of bronchial pneumonia several years ago; the cold night air makes it hard to breathe sometimes, as do certain allergens (prevalent in the bedroom area). I sometimes have to take a hit on my Albuterol inhaler when my Advair diskus does not keep up. Have you tried using one of the pillows that helps prop your upper torso more upright? Or even elevating the head of your bed if that is an issue (put a couple of bricks or blocks of wood just under the head part of the bed frame to raise it up). in La Selva Beach CA Shortness of Breath When Lying Down Does anyone else have this problem? I go to bed at night, lay down and then feel like I can't breathe. It's like I can't catch my breath. I'm not overweight, so that's not the reason. Does anyone know what would cause this? Thank you! Guest guest
Hi Sue, I have had this too at times - it would be there for a few years and then go away. It was also accompanied by chest pain and a feeling that someone was sitting on my chest. I had all the heart checks done - though of course not those that Cheney is now doing, and everything was 'normal'. I suspect had I been able to have the Cheney checks I would have found some real problems. I have no idea why they went away - it just seems that some symptoms can come and last for years and then disappear, only to be replaced by other, weird, unexplained symptoms. Guest guest
I don't know much about it, but that sounds like what Cheney says happens when your heart gets bad. Guest guest
Hi Sue, I have wondered (meaning suspected), what said, but want to add this: A) People with Autonomic Disorders such as NMH are advised to elevate the head of their bed. And then seem to feel better/can get up sooner, when they wake up. This has to do with blood flow. Dr. Cheney asked me if I felt better or worse when horizontal. He said that some patients feel worse. He told me this happens at certain point in Heart Failure. When this is the case , to raise pillows...or to " semi-recline " (feet elevated). Some patients sleep in a chair. I have to be careful now, because I seem to get chest congestion. I notice something I heard long ago in Cardiac condition.. Not to lie on left side. When I do, I can feel the squeezing, affecting my breathing. He also said if lying flat is worse, not to drink Gookinaid late in the day. Observe what else is happening at this time. And maybe try these things. BW, Katrina > > Does anyone else have this problem? I go to bed at night, lay down > and then feel like I can't breathe. It's like I can't catch my > breath. Guest guest
I also used to have that symptom for many years. All tests at that time were negative. I was eventually told that it was probably from Mycoplasma fermentes, although all pulmonary function tests were normal. Treatment with antiobiotics for several years made that problem go away. Dr Cheney really should have listened to me about this! I have found vast numbers of people who have unnecessarily suffered a great deal of completely avoidable pain from mycotoxin exposure. The concept is not conjecture. Testable! -
Guest guest
, What test? I recently had Marinkocich give me petri dishes and of course they came up positive for several mold spores in my house, but then I read these tests are crap and I really need to get a professional with a Zefon Air-O-Cell to get a true test. Schaller's book. Do you have any thoughts? I really can't afford to move. Guest guest
> I had this symptom, in spades, for the past year, and all the other symptomalogy that Dr Cheney indicates is the process of diastolylic dysfunction and mitochondrial-associated cardiomopathy...see his writings on the cardiac symptoms..I, also, have hypoxia, as diagnosed by pulse ox, when lying down. What I did, which has helped me regain some of my prior health (although the cardiac symptoms are below the surface, I am sure, if I try to push too much, have chest pains, etc.) is to follow all the supplements that are recommended at this website on CHF: http://www.dfwcfids.org/medical/chf.htm#dx Best Wishes, Amelia > Does anyone else have this problem?
