Guest guest
Hello all, I have tried Selenium in 3 different forms from 3 different companies in an attempt to be able to take it and help my thyroid. Each time with in a day of starting it, I itch all over. It starts out as dry skin itchiness. By the second or third day I am scratching everywhere and it is driving me crazy. Has anyone else experienced this? If so, did you ever find out what caused it? It has been suggested that it is because the source was not yeast free, but I specifically purchased yeast free selenium. Thanks for any feedback,
Guest guest
> > Selenium for thyroid? What about Iodine? Thank you for your responses. No, I looked at the binders and they are in other supplements that I take and don't have a problem. There are many reasons to take selenium. One from my understanding is that it helps convert T3 to T4 at the cellular level. I have all of the symptoms of hypothyroidism with the labs being normal, which is not untypical of PWC. Any time I have tried Iodine containing supplements, I don't react well. So I thought I would try Selenium. Plus a multi I am supposed to take for the Yasko program has it in it. But I don't believe I will be trying it any time soon. Again, thank you.
