Guest guest
: Sounds like another adjustment is definitely needed if the band was completely covering 's eyes when she woke up. That is not normal & I'm sure your orthotist will adjust accordingly. The first wk or 2 can be very frustrating trying to get that perfect fit. Hopefully, tomorrows adjustment will get it just right & you won't have any further issues. Hang in there - let us know how tomorrow goes. Debbie Abby's mom DOCgrad MI > I know now some movement is normal. We went back to the ortho on Friday he made quite a few adjustments and put gel in the back to help it stay. I thought that would be it.....but its still coming forward and hitting the bridge of her nose. She gets so irritated and the more irritated she gets the more she arches her back and pushes the band forward. I fear her getting hurt so I keep taking it off. I start out saying I'm not going to take it off today, I adjust it and adjust it until we get to the point where she so upset I just take it off. I feel like I making her suffer (I know that's normal). Right now she's sleeping comfortably with it on. Last night she slept from 9-5 when she woke crying her eyes were completely covered by the band. I have an appt. Tues. I hope this will do it. > > I want to thank everyone that responded to my call for help. As prepared as I was...I wasn't prepared for this. I guess I thought the band would go on and we would have no problems. I realize now adjustments are more common than not. > > Again Thank you. > > (MOM2SHANNON)

Guest guest
, If the band is sliding forward so much that it covers her eyes and hits the bridge of her nose then I would suggest an immediate trip back to the ortho for an adjustment. If the ortho cannot get it adjusted so that it does not slide forward over her eyes then I think you could and should request that they re-cast and make a new band. You should not have to be experiencing that much frustration - it just really shouldn't be that way. Good luck to you and I hope things get better really soon. Guest guest
Thanks Marci, I'll see how it goes after they adjust it tomorrow. Re-casting will definitely be my next step.
