Guest guest
Darcy, Wow - sounds like things are rolling right along now. That's great! The information you provided will surely come in handy at some point in time for other members of the group so I thank you for that. It's good to hear that the specialist was so confident that the sutures were open - the CT scan will probably just confirm what you already know! Good luck with the repositioning - I hope you see some GREAT correction between now and then! Marci (mom to ) Oklahoma
Guest guest
Hi, i just got back from a morning spent at Sick Kids Cranio dept having my daughter Madeleine checked out. They were excellent to say the least. Dr. checked out her head, and let us look at x-rays that our pediatrician had ordered a couple of weeks ago. He was 95% confident that the lamdoid sutures are open but still recommended having a CT scan which we have scheduled for a month from now. We also had a physio look at her who recommended repositioning techniques as well as a eye exam to check for inter-cranial pressure. Once the CT scan confirms that the sutures are ok we can decide to go ahead with the helment therapy. Hopefully we might see results between now and then just from repositioning. Feels good to have done something! Our pediatrician had just told us to wait another month or so when we last spoke with her two days ago! For all those in the Toronto area, her is the contact information i used to get an appointment for Madeleine without a referral: R. Forrest, MD, MSc, FRCSC Medical Director, HSC Centre for Craniofacial Care and Research The Hospital for Sick Children Suite 5430, 555 University Avenue Toronto, Ontario M5G 1X8 Voice: (416)813-8659 Fax: (416)813-6637 office email: christopher.forrest@... We ended up seeing a different doctor there, but if you call the number they will book the appointment for you. Cheers, Darcy (father of Madeleine)
