Guest guest
Has anyone else had to fight Kaiser on this? We are just getting started, and have been fighting our pediatricians since our daughter was 3 weeks old. She is now 14 1/2 months old and we are finally going after this on our own. At 9 months we demanded a referral to someone who could help (as we had been assured all along that " It will correct itself " ). After several screw ups on their part with referrals, etc. we finally got a CT scan ordered, and even with the diagnosis of " remarkable flattening " and " positional plagiocephaly " they still did not want to refer us! After fighting some more, we finally got the referral, and were then told by the referral specialist that there was nothing they could do for her as she was over 12 months old! Now we are at 14 1/2 months and we are going after the DOC band on our own. We still want to try and get Kaiser to pay for this (especially since she may need two bands since she is so old). We really feel our pediatrician and others we have seen over the past year blew it here, and we want more than anything to encourage others to trust their instincts. If you suspect your child has this, DON'T WAIT!!!!!! ACT NOW!!!!!
