Guest guest
Hi My son Dylan had his first casting at 8 months which as i am sure you know not a nice experience. Hes now in a second band which i knew was more than likely. This was done just after his first birthday (7th feb) this was more tramatic as he was fighting alot more and he was very stressed he still does not like clothes going over his face. I have been asked if i would do an exit mould as well for when his treatment is finished (hopefully June). I have said yes to this as the hospital is evaluating the DOC BAND as some surgeons are sceptial about it. So if just putting Dylan through it again for 15 minutes of his life will keep the program going and help any other children then i am going to do it. i will just give Dylan lots of love after it to make up. I feel with 3 casts you will be able to see that the DOC BAND works. Guest guest
got his head casted at about 12 months. It was pretty traumatic for him, even after it was over he had a really hard time pulling himself together (with all the love and comfort I could offer). I think he was just really scared. I won't be doing an exit cast. I just can't justify putting him through that again. He is not a part of a study, and I think I will be able to see the results without it. I'm already seeing improvement. I look forward to comparing his head to the mold that has already been made. Good luck. Paige 2nd casting for reevaluationMy son is looking at getting out of his DOC Band either this week or the next and they would like to do another casting to compare his pre band head shape vs post band head shape. He was casted about 4 months of age and is now about 6 1/2 months old,and appears to have achieved excellent results.I would like to hear from others about their experience...did you put your child through this again?I still am awaiting a decision from the insurance company about payment so I don't know if that would make a difference or not.Anyway, I would appreciate the thoughts of others...did you do it, did you not do it and why or why not? Thanks from Atlanta (Jonathon's Mom))For more plagio info
Guest guest
, CT likes to do this so they can have physical " proof " of what kind of improvement has been made. I do not think that you HAVE to do it, but they do encourage it. Ultimately the choice to re-cast is yours and you should do what you feel is right for your baby. It's great that you got such good results with your band! Marci (Mom to ) Oklahoma
Guest guest
, We decided not to do it since ' results were obvious to us and he had already gone through it twice. ' Mom
