Guest guest
Hi, I am grandma to two beautiful twin boys, preemies. 11/25/02. Both are doing well now. The youngest, Dayton's head shape is fine. The oldest, Dakota, has had a flattened back right side of his head since birth. Noone even mentioned it in the NICU. We have tried positioning w/o much luck. Last night looking down on him, I noticed he has a large lump forming to the right side of his head, just above the ear. My daughter has taken him in to see his doctor several times, who says not to worry. Well, now I am. I have downloaded the exercises for torticollis as this is an issues with him as well. We will begin these. She will need to find a specialist. Now, the kicker is...She and the boys are on Medicaid. What are the chances the specialists, tests and helmet will be covered under that program? Any one currently treating in Kansas or Missouri. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Grandma of Twins. Re: Re: and Hi ,I checked out the pictures and I couldn't really tell if it looked like a bad fit or not. I would say that the helmets usually do fit fairly loosely at first and then tighten slightly as the baby's head grows. It is not uncommon for the helmets to come down to the top of the eyebrows, however, if they band is slipping past the eyebrows then you might need to run back in to see the ortho for an adjustment. We had that exact problem with our helmet. We went back in the very next day and he shaved some off the front and the problem was solved! Definitely if you are concerned about the fit you should give your ortho a ring and ask for him to explain the reasoning behind the fit to your satisfaction.Marci (Mom to )OklahomaFor more plagio info
