Guest guest
Denisha: I didn't buy new clothes for Abby when she got her bands. But I did find that shirts with snaps or buttons in the back or on the shoulder area were the easiest to slip over the band. Otherwise, I simply took the band off while dressing and undressing her. The DOCband goes on & off so easily, it wasn't a big deal. I decorated Abby's bands with stickers. I would change them every week or 2 - I usually decorated it with the seasons. So you could go with an Easter theme or whatever! Check out www.plagiocephaly.org then click decorating ideas for some good tips. Please let us know how the fitting goes Monday - and especially how everyone adjusts to her new band . Good luck! Debbie Abby's mom DOCGrad MI > Hello! I'm beginning to get a little nervous. Guest guest
I was worried about clothes before Dane got his band too. I went out and bought several new button down shirts. Silly me, I didn't realize how easy it is to just take off the band while dressing him! The only thing I would recommend is to not use shirts/outfits with collars. He tends to get hot wearing those and the band. Good luck! Dane's mom > Hello! I'm beginning to get a little nervous. My daughter gets her > band Monday. Guest guest
The clothing was an issue I thought about a lot too. Mya has had her band for a week and a day and I havent had any difficulty with her clothes. Alot of her clothes have snaps in the back or side or front anyway so that makes it pretty easy. And what Ive started doing is the outfits with the snaps I just stick her feet through and pull them up and stick her arms in that way. But with shirts that dont have the snaps its not a big deal to take the DOC band on and off. Mya doesnt seem to care one way or the other. And so far Ive used stickers and rub on transfers with some clear nail polish over top. And so far seems to be working well. I understand how nervous you are. I too a week ago was sooo anxious and nervous. But Mya did just fine and she has adjusted well with the band. SO good luck to you and I hope it goes smoothly for you. Good luck and let us know how she does when she gets her band CHristi mom to Mya (DOC band 3/6/02) > Hello! I'm beginning to get a little nervous. My daughter gets her > band Monday.
