Guest guest
Hi Helen: We have several members who have or are still using a passive style helmet with good success. It is true, that a STARband or DOCband are the most common - but as long as the orthotist who will be treating your child with her helmet is trained & educated, you should still see good success. I live in Grand Rapids Michigan. My daughter first wore a STARband made by my local orthotics & prosthetics hospital in GR. She didn't have any improvement while in that STARband so we switched her to a DOCband which we had good results in. If you'd like the name of the hospital we rec'd our STARband from, feel free to email me directly & I'll give you the name.
