Guest guest
Hey, everyone, thanks so much for always replying, you guys are a faithful bunch, sorry I don't interact much, just can't spend too much time on the computer(everyone else in my family is napping right now!). As for whether Kai has grown since the first casting, I imagine that he has to have. I asked my orthotist but did not push him about if we needed to recast and he said we did not. Man, I hope I haven't made a big mistake here, time is already a wasting. it's been like six weeks since we he was casted. Still trying to wear the first helmet, but really haven't been able to that much. Finally got rid of the dry, scaley spot on his forehead, so starting to wear it more again today. Thanks for the Cortaid idea, but didn't read it until it finally got better with time. Also for the info about the holes in the helmet. I really questioned my orthotist about the wearing schedule and he really does want us to take it off every 4 hrs for the whole time Kai wears it. He said that having it off for a short length of time isn't going to hurt and is much better for the skin, as far as moisture goes. He said this is what he has discovered over time, he has his own wearing schedule, different from STARband's recommendation. He recommends taking it off whenever the baby eats, for example. Anyhow, do think this would be detrimental to Kai's correction, anyone? I do think with the moisture problems we've already had this might be a good idea. We're supposed to get the second helmet this coming thurs. or Friday, I just hope it works better. I'm really impatient to get going, everything went fast at the beginning and now that it's been slow, it's hard to take!! But God is faithful, I believe it, I truly appreciate everyone that replied and said they'd be praying. Talk again soon, (Kai's mom from Columbia, Mo)
