Guest guest
Dear All Based on my personal obsrevation and hearsay evidence it appers that discrimination against PLWA is more among urban and literate circles. At a personal level, I have seen people with HIV among my relaties in my village (Bellary district, Karnataka) and all of them have been treated repsectfully of their families. I understand that it is naie to generalize based on one persons obsrvations. Considering the seriousness of this issue and the impact it has on PLWA it may be worth looking into this aspect in a systematic manner. This will help in tailoring interventions that are culturally appropriate. Vijayabhaskar Reddy Kandula MD MPH Aids Healthcare Foundation.
