Guest guest
Dear Sir/Madam, A Social Rakhshabandhan programme (a tradition of sisters tying thread of brotherhood on the srist of their brothers) has been organised by the Saheli Project of PHO in the Red-light areas of Central Mumbai on 9th August. PHO - a secular and apolitical NGO on the forefront of fight against HIV/AIDS in India has been regularly organising Raksha-bandhan for the Sex Workers since 1984. This program also gives an opportunity to update on the plight of sex workers and their brave front against HIV/AIDS. This is also an effort to achieve resocialisation for the sex workers. Doctors, Social Workers and Members of PHO including Cine-Artiste Kunika will attend the simple ceremony. PHO President and Member of Parliament Mr. Sunil Dutt will be the Chief Guest. Though the Rakshabandhan falls on 12th August, this time the PHO program has been organized on 9th August, to coincide with the beginning of the " Bharat-Jodo Abhiyan " (Knit-India Movement) being organized by Mr. Dutt from the historical day described as the 'August Kranti Diwas' described after Mahatma Gandhi's call to Britishers on 9th August 1942 and described as " Bharat-Chhodo Abhiyan " (Quit-India Movement). The program will be held near Silver Cinema on Falkland Road at 9.30 am. Thanking you. Sincerely yours, Dr.I.S.Gilada Secretary General, PHO PHO Office: 23719020/ 23738999 (10 am to 6 pm); Fax: 23864433/ 23000016 E-mail: <ihoaids@...>
