Guest guest
It is interesting, KC. A friend sent me off (using rather forcible language) to get treated for candidiasis when he A) noticed how much sugar I was consuming; and caught me complaining about how I thought I looked pregnant even though I was otherwise in shape and at a normal weight. He explained that since he had been through it all, he found he could easily spot it in others, although they disbelieved him and usually ignored him (helloooooo, ). I only listened because I felt so sick. I had just spent 18 months in a moldy building just to top things off. Long story short, I always thought I was gassy because I was told (by two surgeons) that " indigestion " was so common in people who had their gall bladders removed. They claimed it was caused by the now-constant flow of bile into the gut. Which makes absolutely no sense to me now, but what did I know? Funny - once the candidiasis was handled, so was the indigestion (which I refer to as Mass Gas, the stuff of which urban legends are born ; ) was gone. The exterior look of it was so normal for me for so long that I never really connected the look of it with the intestinal hassle. I thought the " pooch " was an effect of aging. So. Duh! These doctors were stuffing patients full of antibiotics and not grasping what the effects of the antibiotics were. And that was well before I saw pictures of people in Africa with their bellies swollen from fungal infections. Duh all over again. I don't know of any bacteria that outgasses like that, but fungi sure will. I saw the frog story and immediately started thinking what you're thinking. Explosive froggy guts? Ohhh, yeah. Spontaneous Amphibian Combustion. I REALLY have to shut up now. I'm ROFL at the mental imagery the exploding frog thing conjures. All those Budweiser commercials...
