Guest guest
Hello Group, My books came yesterday but I have not had time to read now. I am looking for an air cleaner and I paged through where Mold Warriors talks about HEPA filter, I thought I saw that it said HEPA is a MERV 14. My understanding was that HEPA is a MERV 18. Maybe I read it wrong late last night. I am looking for a quiet, but effective purifier for the bedroom. The Blue air found here: http://allergybuyersclub.com/compare- air.html does not have a HEPA rated filter, but claims to be an overall HEPA class filter due to its combined effect with an ionizer and high air exchange. It was the best filter rated by AHAM (AHAM.ORG). I went to the web page and saw that you can compare many manufacturer's specs http://www.cadr.org/consumer/certified_blueair.html The Blue air is really quiet and there is a lot of air exchanges per hour. Our cheap GE HEPA is way too noisy for the bedroom. The Blue air also is suppose to dispurse the air well so you don't feel much of a draft. Any comments? BTW here is a link for a MERV 15 furnace filter. I am waiting to see if one can be built for my Lennox pure air system(OF COURSE LENNOX MADE AN ODD SIZE SO YOU HAVE TO BUY THEIR FILTER OR HAVE ONE SPECIALLY MADE). It has four UV lights that shine on the filter and they are seeing if it can take the UV light. This filter is made of plastic, I bought a 16 X 20 X 2 inch one for my Santa Fe dehumidifier and it fit tight and was very strong and well built. I do not know of any other ordinary furnace filter rated that high or made from plastic. Guest guest
Many people who have asthma or other respiratory problems find they have problem tolerating ionized air. I got rid of mine. Did Lennox come with FOUR UV lights? That's pretty good or did you add them??? I would avoid ionizers and just go for the best filter, smallest particle and UV lights you already have. Do you do mold plates tests on your home regularly, like every few months and make sure mold count is 4 or below. It was recommended in sinusitis site. Did you get that link? I think it is very good site for mold allergy suffers even though it is primarily for sinusitis sufferers. Mold hits your nose first so if you follow those procedures, mold shouldn't be getting any further.
