Guest guest
Try contacting your local vacuum cleaner repair shop. Some manufacturers make a hose sock. It's made to slip over your vacuum cleaner hose to prevent your hose from leaving scuff marks on hardwood floors and furniture. It may help in reducing your sensitivity to the nylon from your new vacuum cleaner hose. So will you once you have a non-toxic hose. How long is the hose? I have a 60' and 75' long hose. Where I live we have two types of hoses; vinyl and hard plastic. The vinyl I cannot tolerate, the plastic caused me no problems after a few days outside a mild wash. Perhaps you can contact the supplier and see if they have a plastic hose and ask them to cut a foot or two off for you to try out at home. Rosie -- No virus found in this outgoing message. Guest guest
Rosie - What company did you buy from? I just hung up from BEAM - and I have all the holes drilled and the machine mounted in the basement. Its an expensive investment, and they tell me that they only have vinyl. Very bad news.- Im sort of left hanging here....wondering about rigging soemthing else up somehow. Hi : I bought ours about 12-13 years ago when we first moved into this home from a small local vacuum store. Don't recall name; however I shop close by every Wednesday and will stop and inquire for you. I think why most hoses are vinyl rather than plastic is due to their ease of handling; plastic is sturdier and more difficult to use especially in long lenghts such as mine are. Our home came with the built-in vacuum system but no hoses nor attachments. Yes, a central vacuum system is expensive; I'm curious how you installed the central vacuum lines within the house without having to tear out the sheetrock? How long do your hoses need to be? Just had a thought; might not look pretty, and would have to be replaced periodically; however it would protect you. That is to wrap the hose with Dennyfoil; you can purchase the dennyfoil online 2 " wide and just wrap the entire hose and replace as necessary. I've done this before with some vinyl items I couldn't off-gas. Hope this helps, Rosie -- No virus found in this outgoing message. Checked by AVG Anti-Virus.
