They do give you the pressure job at the ped's office, don't they?

Just keep in mind that you can always add shots but once they're in there

there is no taking them out. Read, read and read before you make such a

life-changing decision. Hang out on here a while and see how you feel in a few

months time.

Just my two cents!

Congrats on being a new mom!

Hi Everyone,

I'm a new Mom to Luther who was born in July. I am feeling pressured to go " with

the schedule " of vaxes even though I met with the ped doctors before joining

them and let them know that I wanted to delay.

I was thinking about going ahead with two vaccines that guards against

meningitis. Any thoughts on this? I'm definitely not doing the MMR. And I am

asking for " single dose " vaccines to help eliminate some of the preservatives

that are used in the multiple use bottles.

What are you alls thoughts on this?

Hi

Congrats. I would also just add that you are the only one that has your

child’s best interest at heart. You have to live with your decision, your

doctor does not. So make sure that you are completely OK with your

decision, as to the doctors your baby is just another baby.

My thoughts are to stay away from allopath doctors, they are only good

for true emergency situations. Find a real doctor that understands the

body. Usually you won't even need a doctor for your child, under

normal circumstances. And don't vax at all.

Hi ,

are you breastfeeding your baby? If you are, you don't need to worry

too much. Informing yourself will help you deal with your fear.

Here are 2 links for you to explain how breastmilk so wonderfully

protects and strenghtens a baby ( including meningitis):

Will you listen to those who have experience with the pressure, caving in, and

having a child suffer? My grandson was born in April 1997. Though my sister

in law had concerns about vaccines and had delayed the vaccines for her

children, I didn't know the real dangers of vaccines. My daughter had just

turned 18 when Tristan was born and still in High School. The Ped was very

provaccine. We did ask questions and voiced our concerns but he insisted they

are safe and even safer when given together. Tristan had a reaction the night

of his first round of shots. High pitch cry, glazy eyes, arching body, wouldn't

nurse. The doctor didn't seem surprised, and said it was " probably " the

pertussis in the DPT, so he said Tristan would get the DT from then on and the

IPV (dead polio virus, at that time they were still giving the live oral polio

in every dose). Because he changed it a little bit we believed he knew what he

was doing and trusted him. We have since found out that the DT had more mercury

in it. He continued to get his shots and had similar but milder reactions, and

the night of the day he got the MMR, Chicken Pox and Hep B in the same day (last

round of shots) he had another severe reaction. This time the little guy that

had 20 plus words, and was very engaging regressed into autism. We started

looking for answers in other places than the doctor because he didn't

acknowledge that there was anything wrong with him! He said that boys talk

later than girls and tryed to make us seem overly worried about nothing.

Tristan was 23 months old when he got those shots, which is older than the

typical age of 12-15 months which is what they say is coincidence when toddlers

get autism after the shots. In the next year we learned that thousands of

parents had seen the same thing happened to their child. The doctors denied a

connection as they do now. Let me assure you that if it were to happen to your

baby they would deny that vaccines have anything to do with it. Insurance

companies won't pay for the necessary therapies to help our kids acquire skills

they lost, and even when they do it is minimal. Parents need to understand that

when they trust the doctors they will be betrayed and even fought against if

their child suffers.

Ingrid,

Yes, I am breast feeding and joined La Leche last month. I'm going

to the meeting tonight! Great info. Thank you!

Hi ,

Your story sums up so well my feeings about vaccination. My son has

had the same reaction to the DPT?Polio vaccine as yours and fortunatly

I found out about the dangers before he was due the MMR. He has not

had any more vaccines, no MMR, nothing, just breastmilk for a long time.

I wish more parents would do some research and learn to let go of

their fears and listen to their own instincts instead of a doctor that

is biased.

I know of many kids, especially boys, that have delayed speech and the

parents simply don't know why. And I can't say a word!...

Check out this book:

What your Doctor May Not Tell you About Children's Vaccinations

By Cave, MD

I wish I had read it when I had my son. IU followed the AAP rec's on

vaccines and now regret that I wasn't smarter and that I blindly

trusted the ped. It's a very balanced book I feel. Now, I'm spending

all my time, energy and money trying to recover my son from Autism.

Needless to say, I'm doing things very differently with my daughter.
