Guest guest
" CDC announces major reorganization " . This is inappropriate terminology. The word " reorganization " in this case refers, to redoing an already established method of procedure. A more appropriate statement would be: " CDC announces an attempt to get organized in an effort actually accomphish something to protect the citizens of the US, and acknowledges there was no organization prior to this current attempt. Guest guest
" Public Health Informatics " ? This sounds awfully like something that the great unificator would write. However, if it gets the obviously deadwood administrative staff of the CDC out and gathering ELISA samples, maybe something will come of this. --- In , " tigerpaw2c " <tigerpaw2C@n...> wrote: > CDC announces major reorganization > > http://www.sciencedaily.com/upi/index.php?feed=Science & article=UPI-1- > 20050422-16233300-bc-us-cdc.xml > > ATLANTA, April 22 (UPI) -- The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and > Prevention has added four coordinating centers and two national > offices as part of a major reorganization. > > Related Headlines > Health record services a privacy risk (April 27, 2005) -- Medical > records experts worry people will begin using online services to > store and manage their health records -- services that may not be > covered by ... > full story > > 36 nations join to urge vaccinations (April 25, 2005) -- Sunday > kicked off National Infant Immunization Week, an annual event now in > its second decade aimed at boosting pediatric vaccinations in the > United ... > full story > > Murder and suicide increase in six states (April 25, 2005) -- Data > from Atlanta's Centers for Disease Control and Prevention show > higher rates of suicide and homicide rates in six reporting states > from 2000 ... > full story > > Study: Thai health sites are unreliable (April 16, 2005) -- > Thailand's Health Systems Research Institute has said most of the > country's 1,888 health Web sites are unreliable and potentially ... > > full story > > Study: Internet dishonest about tobacco (April 4, 2005) -- A > University of Texas study suggests information on the Internet about > the health risks of smokeless tobacco usually overstates the risk. > The study ... > full story > > > > The Atlanta-based agency has also collapsed 40 national hotlines > into a single information line, a move it expects to save $35 > million in the next seven years. > > The new coordinating centers are Environmental Health and Injury > Prevention, Health Promotion, Infectious Diseases and Health > Information and Services.
