Guest guest
, I have gotten some suffering from Fibro, MS, RA, MCS to this forum Some not joined but I forwarded some posts> and links, think 2 people out of 100+ have taken the mycotoxins seriously. Ignorance, denial? Oh well, you know the saying, you can lead a horse to water but you can't make them drink. P.S. Would you by any chance still have the story on this list of contacting one of the examples of MCS in Dr Rosenbaums book " Solving the puzzle of CFS " Or is it in the forums. Sure would like to see it. :-) I admire your knowledge and sensitivity. ______________________________________________ > Yes, you don't have to tell me, been there and done > it. > I told the story on this list of contacting one of > the examples of > MCS in Dr Rosenbaums book " Solving the > puzzle of CFS " and > sayiing that I disagree with the theory presented in > the book that > the MCS was due to multiple chemical assaults and > that the > triggering effects are all of equal consideration. > I told the guy that it sounded to me like his > family's illness was > induced by toxic mold instead and he almost screamed > at me over the > phone " THAT'S WHAT I TOLD DR ROSENBAUM BUT HE > CHANGED MY STORY TO > FIT HIS THEORY " . > I was thoroughly amazed to find that I could exert > almost total > control over MCS and being a " Universal Reactor " (as > diagnosed by Dr > ) by mycotoxin avoidance alone. > By accompanying other Incline Village CFSers into > sick buildings I > found that they had the indentical response, but > other than > , few people diagnosed with CFS are interested > in undertaking > an avoidance protocol directed at mycotoxins > specifically. > I can't say as I blame them - it's a real pain. > But at least I got to spend the last seven years > mountain climbing > and controlling CFS instead of allowing it to > control me. > For me, it was well worth it, for others - perhaps > not. > - > __________________________________________________

It's in the old messages, but basically the story is that I made a trip down to educate Dr Rosenbaum because I felt certain that he would want to know about the mycotoxin connection. In his waiting room I noticed that his receptionist was holding her hand to her temple in the classic " mold salute " and reaching for the aspirin. When I explained the purpose of my visit, she was very interested and said that she had black mold in her bathroom and was getting headaches and fatigue. She said that none of Dr Rosenbaums suggestions were helping and that she had tried various chemicals to eradicate it but the problem didn't go away. I showed her my information and said that my visit was very timely and that when Dr Rosenbaum had more information, he would be able to help her with this problem. I spent an hour presenting my experience as an Incline Village CFS survivor who managed a fairly spectacular recovery through mold avoidance and gave him such info as Rick 's 1994 Tricothecene paper and the Time magazine article on the SouthWest Airline reservation terminal in Phoenix which had people being carried out on a stretcher without knowing exactly why they were so sick. Dr Rosenbaum promised to look over my article and I made another appointment to discuss it. When I returned, the receptionist did not want to discuss anything with me and when I asked Dr Rosenbaum his opinion on the articles, he said that he didn't believe that mold was significant. A short discussion followed, but his mind was made up. As I left, I stopped at the receptionists desk and asked what SHE thought of the information (which described how spores retain their toxicity despite being dead) and she said that if Dr Rosenbaum thought that mold was not a problem, that was her opinion as well. When I asked about her reaction to the bathroom that she had previously mentioned, she said " Dr Rosenbaum told me to just spray bleach on in it and forget it " . Needless to say - I was stunned. There was no point in making any further appointments. -
