State orders Junction HoJo's to shut most rooms

WHITE RIVER JUNCTION, Vt. The Vermont Health Department has ordered a

's motel in White River Junction to close most of its

rooms because of mold and a lack of hot water in them.

The state also reported buckets catching water dripping from ceilings,

a lack of chlorine, too-acidic water in the pool and refrigerators in

need of cleaning.

Latis Shak -- the motel's manager -- has denied most of the problems

and says others have been corrected. He says the place is like a

resort.

State inspectors visited the hotel unannounced after eight recent

complaints by guests
