Nurse's reaction after pertussis shot

Was standing outside in the beautiful fall weather after picking up my youngest

from preschool. One of the moms I really like happens to be a nurse, but she's

pretty groovy for a nurse if you can believe that.

Anyway, she was talking about how the hospital wants them all to get the

latest pertussis shot. Many of the nurses have already lined up to get them.

Well, all the nurses were at a meeting last week and one of the nurses was

like the walking dead. She said her legs were killing her and she had fever and

felt horrid. The only thing she could think of was that she had gotten her

pertussis shot the day before. My friend was already not wanting to get yet

another shot (her words) but this sealed the deal for her. She said there was

NO WAY they were going to make her get it and I believe her. Good for her!

Hope the other lady pulls through it with no lasting damage.

One of the lead nurses just said, 'Yeah, you'll have to take Motrin for a good

48 hours after that shot. Lots of people have that reaction. "

All I could think of was how contagious that lady probably was! Oh, did I

mention that they work in the neo-natal unit?
