Dear Sir,

Thanks for the assistance. However, the subject of my request is slightly

misleading, as circulated by . It gives the impression that I’m

looking for information specific to contamination of SRI, Pune.

The SRI scandal isn’t the only one I’m interested in. I found mention of SRI,

Pune and the 1995 Mumbai fiasco in India Today magazine [please check my request

mail…I’ve given the references]. While I’ve heard there have been lots more…I’ve

not been able to locate documentary evidence of the same from media reports. My

search is continuing though.

My request is for information on HIV/ transmission through contaminated blood

supply and State responsibility. I presented SRI and Mumbai cases as 2 prime

examples basing on the media reports.

While the prudent reader on reading the entire mail is expected to comprehend

the requested information, the danger of being mislead remains, as in the case

of Dr. Ghosal who thought that I was looking for information only into the SRI,

Pune case.

It’s an earnest request that the present subject title be changed and the

request mail be circulated again. It’s humbly submitted that the title be

changed to “Requesting info on contaminated blood products and HIV transmission

in India” or something like that.

While, it maybe that the wording of my initial mail mislead to assign

the present subject title, I’m attaching a revised request mail, which you could

circulate. Minor changes have been effected therein to attempt further clarity.

Take care and keep in touch.

Kindest Regards

Suman Saha
