I've never heard of thrush before, still not sure what

it is, but thought I'd paste the ingredients for

toothpaste if anybody wants to try it. Honey is great

for coldsores by the way, if anyone has em.

And the best salt for your body, is gray Celtic Salt,

from some health stores.

MAKE YOUR OWN TOOTH POWDER. Thoroughly mix 3 parts

baking soda (the cleanser and sweetener) with part

salt (the abrasive) and funnel the compound into a

short small-mouthed container such as a pop or beer

bottle. You'll find that the creation has a

satisfying, different taste and leaves your mouth

feeling very fresh and soothed. If you'd like, add a

few drops of peppermint or wintergreen oil to the

concoction - or mix the home " brew " half-and-half with

a commercial tooth powder - to give the dentifrice a

more pleasant

flavor.

Making your own toothpaste is both easy and cheap.

Ingredients:

- 1 cup baking soda - 1/3 cup salt - 3 teaspoons

glycerin - Flavoring for taste (Wintergreen or

Peppermint Oil)

Directions:

Mix baking soda and salt together. Then add 3

teaspoons of glycerin and mix thourally. Add flavoring

to taste. 5 to 10 drops will usually work. Find out

what is best for you. Put paste into a squeeze bottle.

Use as you would commercial toothpaste. You can also

add a drop of food coloring to add a little color. Add

a little more glycerin for thicker toothpaste.

I have never had my mouth feel fresher, and have that

feeling last so long into the day (no, it wasn't the

cinnamon...). I spent around $7.00, and I feel that

there is enough left over ingredients to last at least

six months or more.

The basis for most homemade tooth cleansers is baking

soda. Just mix it with a few drops of water, dunk your

toothbrush in the paste, and brush your teeth. Another

recipe calls for mixing three parts baking soda to one

part salt for a more abrasive toothpaste -- better for

scrubbing debris off your choppers. For extra

whitening power, put a few drops of hydrogen peroxide

in

the baking soda.

Some chemicals commonly found in commercial

toothpastes can be found at home

Calcium carbonate is an abrasive mineral used in many

toothpastes -- at home, you can use finely powdered,

unflavored Tums antacid. Add that to the cleaning

agent, sodium bicarbonate (good old baking soda

again), mix with a little bit of water, and you have

paste for your teeth.

If you prefer a thicker paste consistency, try adding

a little glycerin to any of the baking soda mixes.

Glycerin is often available in drugstores. For a minty

fresh taste, add peppermint or wintergreen oil or even

cinnamon extract, flavoring ingredients which can be

found at grocery stores.
