Guest guest
Hi Jane, Thanks for sharing this video with us. It was very informative. One thing I would like to mention, while Professor Hooper held the Canadian Definition up as an example, the doctors here where I live (Edmonton, Alberta, Canada) are very ignorant about ME. One need only view my medical records. Furthermore, our government and the doctors' regulatory agency supports such ignorance and abuse. Awhile ago, there was a grand article by local researchers showing by the skin that ME was different than depression. Can you imagine that? After all these years they just figured that out? In the newspaper article, another girl commented on the sad state of Edmonton doctors. ....so it's not just me! Professor Hooper seems to have a real understanding of this illness and I like how he covered all the bases. It is interesting that Professor Hooper seems to suggest that diet and supplements are the most helpful for ME. Thanks, again, for so generously sharing this video with those of us across the pond. HOOPER DVD NOW AVAILABLE ONLINE ! **PERMISSION TO REPOST**PERMISSION TO REPOST**PERMISSION TO REPOST** ! HOOPER DVD NOW AVAILABLE ONLINE ! >From the comfort of your homes, you can now watch THE HOOPER DVD online. Many congratulations and thanks are due to Jeff for making this happen for us. THE HOOPER DVD IS AVAILABLE ONLINE HERE: http://www.integritus.co.uk/me/ Jeff writes: Why This Is Important " Myalgic Encephalomyelitis is a serious life-changing physical illness, recognised by the World Health Organisation (WHO); listed at ICD-10-G93.3 as an organic-biomedical neurological disorder. This classification is supported by a considerable body of peer-reviewed clinical and research evidence. For example, SPECT and PET brain scans of M.E. sufferers have revealed physical tissue damage and severely reduced cerebral blood-flow – made worse by exertion. Autopsies have confirmed such damage/infection. In spite of this, in the UK, ME/CFS sufferers are being systematically persecuted and driven towards an outrageous situation where they shall be (mis)treated as psychiatric patients and face reduced access to health services and welfare benefits. Professor Hooper's presentation and the associated documents reveal the compelling truth about the biomedical nature of M.E. and those who, in the face of this evidence, assert that " M.E. is simply a belief, the belief that one has an illness called M.E. " Although this DVD is now available online for all, we still need the message to be broadcast to government ministers, to Members of Parliament, to your senators, congressmen, doctors, public health officials, patients, their carers, families and friends. Please make as many copies of this DVD as you can and send them out far and wide. To obtain copies of THE HOOPER DVD for the UK and Europe, contact M.E.SUPPORT NORFOLK (UK). Guest guest
You are very welcome, Trudy. We are working on producing a copy of the the Hooper DVD that will play on DVD players in the USA. It will currently run on computers anywhere in the world, but home DVD players have different specifications in different countries etc. Canada appears to be leading the way in understanding of ME/CFS, but this certainly - from what I can gather and as you so accurately write - has not filtered down to all levels as yet. Far from it. The insurance companies of course have a very serious vested interest worldwide to attempt to ensure that ME/CFS stays considered a psychiatric disorder instead of the neurological disorder that it is and classified as such by the World Health Organisation under ICD- 10 G93.3. One of the best recent articles on the psychiatric paradigm of ME/CFS has been written by Sociology Lecturer Kennedy and it is available here: http://tinyurl.com/e26ga TC Jane > Hi Jane, > > Thanks for sharing this video with us. Guest guest
I saw this presentation. It's actually quite good - especially if you want to see an explanation of these toxins get into our systems. Although he says nothing about mold, his explanation of how inhaled toxins cross the blood/brain barrier alone is worth it. And the slideshow is also worth having. He's got charts I was trying to construct on my own, because I haven't been able to find them anywhere else...until now. All I have to do now is moosh it together with the mold stuff. And for those who haven't spent time with the CFS/ME communities, you'll get a kick out his little jokes - they're a lot like ours here. However many problems we have here getting treatment, just be glad we aren't in the mess they have in the UK! Nationalized health care comes with a price tag none of these folks expected. > THE HOOPER DVD IS AVAILABLE ONLINE HERE: > http://www.integritus.co.uk/me/ > Serena www.freeboards.net/index.php?mforum=sickgovernmentb __________________________________________________
