Guest guest
I am not sure which way I lean regarding this topic, but I do believe the less that goes into your body as far as sweeteners, the better. But I also think that you should not panic if you do consume these. In the one article, they talk about saccharin causing cancer in rats, but the amount they had to consume is impossible to achieve. (We would have to eat pounds of it everyday.) To play devil's advocate to myself, researchers also believe that mold is not harmful unless you " eat large amounts of it " .....and we all know that is B.S. The point is this: Too much of anything has negative effects. You need calories for energy, but too much can cause obesity, diabetes, and heart disease. You also need sugar, but too much can be harmful. Even vitamins can be harmful and even toxic (i.e. Iron). A study was just released about vitamin E causing cancer if it is over 400iu. I think moderation is the key. Take one scoop of sugar with your coffee instead of two. Angel MCS <jap2bemc@...> wrote: Oh yummmyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy! SPLENDA--Animal research has shown that sucralose (Splenda) consumption can cause up to 40% shrinkage of the thymus gland, enlargement of liver and kidneys, reduced bodily growth rate, decreased red blood cell count, hyperplasia of the pelvis, exteneded gestation period of pregnancy, decreased birth weight of offspring, diarrhea. Sucralose may contain heavy metals, arsenic, triphenilphosphhine oxide, methanol and more. Because more is being sold than what the manufacturer can keep up with a new artificial sweetener is on the horizon called neotame. Neotame is synthesized from aspartame (Nutra Sweet) but is more potent and potentially more hazardous to human health. Look for this on labels and avoid like the plague!!
