Guest guest
Hi --- Sounds like a move that was meant to be! I HAVE had that experience also---I was born and raised in California, but, when my husband took me to meet his family in the Missouri Ozarks, I had this overwhelming feeling of homecoming and peace, that remains to this day--each time I return. (spent a previous life there--perhaps?) Enjoy your new home in Oregon and maybe, now that you are closer, you can DRIVE to see your family in California, stopping along the way to make the acquaintance of a couple of your 'elder' ER posters?? :-) ......Wanda

Nice area. That was the area I visited when I went to Oregon. Flew into Portland and stayed in Vancouver, Wash. Sounds like you had a good day. There will be lots of seafood there to eat. Are you going to be working there? Sharon (Ontario) Canada
Guest guest
Oregon City, about 30 minutes from Portland. Had a great day today. My nephew is in dry dock at Swan Is. in Portland and he gave 7 members of our family a tour of his ship. He is the cheif engineer and the ship does refueling for navy ships etc. out in the ocean. They are capable of hauling over 1 million gallons of fuel!! Then we went out for dinner. I had steak and salad, and water. Nice day. --- SFerris769@... wrote: > In a message dated 4/15/2002 10:48:11 AM Eastern > Daylight Time, > lambchop_71@... writes: > > > > I have moved to Oregon from Oklahoma. Guest guest
Sharon, I transferred my work file for my agency from OKC to here. I start work a week from Weds. and my first shifts will be at Kaiser Permanente. That is one advantage to being a nurse. Very flexible. The pay here is very good. $50.00/hr on weekend nights and $42.00/hr weekday nights. I will work four 10 hr. shifts a week, and gross $1840.00/week. I think I can live on that!! LOL We meet my sisters train at 11:30 today and will all have lunch together in Portland. Thurs. we are going to Seaside until Sunday to play at the beach. I will come home Sunday night and rest a couple days and then dig in to work. It has been a nice vacation. --- SFerris769@... wrote: > In a message dated 4/15/2002 10:28:50 PM Eastern > Daylight Time, > lambchop_71@... writes: > > > > Oregon City, about 30 minutes from Portland. > > Nice area. Guest guest
A man after my own heart. The bed wasn’t put up, the furniture wasn’t moved, but I was working on my home theater and PC, my connection to the outside world. By adding a new phone service, SBC offered a special on adding DSL, so I did. They messed up though turning off my old phone immediately and not giving me new service at the new house until I got a service call. Then they apparently forgot to send my software and I had to call back and re request it. I got them to drop a $75 service charge for their screw-up, so I guess it was worth it. The people who lived here before us had cable only in the family room and not in the livingroom. So we were pioneering with no phone, no cable and no internet for SEVERAL DAYS!!!!! Now I know how Abe Lincoln felt! J -dz- RE: [ ] move yes Dave 2 things could not do without tv and computer so we had them right out lol. Guest guest
If I were you, knowing what I know now, I would move immediately, or stay with friends until you can move, do not go back in for anything. have movers move all you belongings that you want to keep into storage. Buy a few changes of new clothes, and a blow up areobed, new linens. Careful about cross contaminating if you have a car. Paper plates, ect will do while you read, learn about your situation and try to regain your health. Buy a new computer so you can read up on the situation, or use one at a library, although they are frequently moldy. If you have a pet, send it out for a double shampoo before bringing it to your new apt. Treat your bedroom as a safe zone, never entering until you have fully showered, and put on clean clothes. Make sure you get an apt with hard floors, no carpeting. You should begin to feel better soon. It's been confirmed (by doctors) that my year long (serious) healthy complaints are due to mold exposure. Although my apartment complex is offering to move me for free - should I not be concerned with mold having gotten into and onto my personal belongs? Wouldn't I just be moving mold with me??
