CORPORATE CRIMEFIGHTERS OF AMERICA ADDENDUM -- MAY 25, 2005

/////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

/////////////////////////////////

The reporter who wanted Unum and other disability stories wanted to

be identified for reasons of disclosure, which is refreshing, since

older readers know I've had to send out blind queries for reporters

from Forbes, WSJ, Smart Money, Chicago Trib, etc.

His name is Gosselin at the LA Times.

Again, those of you with newsletters and groups, especially on the

West Coast or in Unum domiciliary states, please redistribute with

the note below. And readers, email to all the other victims you know.

We need telephone contact at the numbers below.

Reporter Looking for Info -- Please Respond

I am a newspaper reporter who is working on a story about

disability insurance. I would like to talk with people who have had

experience pursuing claims with UNUMProvident and other major

disability carriers.

I'm chiefly interested in people who are or were covered

through their employers. I'm especially interested in people who

have filed claims, begun receiving disability payments and then have

been terminated. I'd like to talk with people who have been required

by their carrier to file for Social Security disability insurance as

a condition of receiving benefits from the insurer. I'd also like to

talk with people who have had experience dealing with claims when

the original carrier shifted either the claims administration or the

entire policy to a re-insurer or other third-party.

I know that many of these cases take a very long time to wend

their way through the system. But I'm especially interested in more

recent cases-those since 2001 or 2002. I'd very much like to talk

with people who have been denied coverage, have had their payments

terminated or have been required to filed for Social Security

disability during the last six months.

My aim is to do a substantial number of telephone interviews,

then zero in on a few particularly illustrative cases and do in-

person interviews. The initial interview should take no more than 20

minutes. I'll be happy to answer questions you might have when we

talk on the phone. Ultimately, I will need to use your name and to

see much of the documentation in your case in order to make a story

work. But I will discuss on a confidential basis what would need to

be on the record for the story and what would not.

I am reachable by phone at any of the following numbers: O: 202-

861-9265, H: 202-363-6903, Cell; 202-251-3945.

Gosselin, LA Times

======================================

Phone , Please don't send an email to me. I'm not doing the

story. And my Linksys network is once again down for totally

mysterious reasons, so my main computer is out and I can't get email

right now. Therefore, I'm going to take a break from the computer

for a day or so. To heck with being high tech with wireless. I'm

going to get a plain old Ethernet cable. Wireless is still too

finicky

That's all for now. Don't be shy. I want all Unum and other disab

insurance victims to come out of the woodwork and give this guy some

hard info.
