I am pulling up the 2 rooms of carpeting in my rentaal this week, will just

paint the subfloor afte it is cleaned. why do you need padding? don't put down

anothe r carpet. Cork it a good padding for floating floors.

Subject: floor covering

I am hoping this topic hasn't come up lately, but here goes. I have to get rid

of the carpet,

and need something for padding. Since I have many allergies and some chemical

sensitivities, I don't know what to do. Anyone have ideas? I don't go out very

much (due to

health), but I thought maybe IKEA or Pier One might have something natural. I am

allergic

to most animal hair, too, so I can't have wool of any kind either.

I was hoping someone else might have seen or know of something.....Thanks.

The floors here are oak hardwood. I don't know if they are pretty or not, under

the wall to

wall. I once had a pair of shoes that had a cork sole, they were pretty cushy.

The floors

here get unbearably cold in the winter, and I don't think I can do without

something.

Thank you to everyone.....

> Cork is a good underpayment for all floating floors. Pergo, or engineered

wood. too

screwed up from mold to answer more.
