Guest guest
We assume that doctors combine the qualities of a diagnostician and a therapist as a prerequisite for the practice of medicine. The role of a diagnostician is to discern the nature and severity of a problem by its distinguishing characteristics. The role of a therapist is to develope a course of action relevant to the diagnosis. The competence of a doctor " diagnostician/therapist " is measured by his ability to construct a resolution of the problem that is the most effective and appropriate based upon the circumstances. The problem at hand to is to determine if a prospective doctor " practices " these attributes and the solution is to examine his automobile. The selection of transportation by the doctor is a direct reflection of his decision making process. Does the automobile the doctor possesses represent the most effective choice to fulfil the mission requirements? If the mission is a basic no-frills transportation " beater " it may be the most appropropriate choice but it may also indicate that the doctor is not financially successful. If the mission is a modicum of reliability combined with the requirement of interaction with colleagues " of equal station " then the choice of automobile should reflect this criteria. If the car is a high priced " built to impress " vehicle, then the doctors priorities are made evident. If the doctor drives a " purpose built " gas-guzzling " off-road vehicle " with a pricey paint job and chrome wheels, the vehicle chosen for the mission is completely contraindicated and inappropriate unless the sole purpose is to convey an aura of extravagance and ostentatious display. Given that an individuals choices are based upon his intent and philosphy, is there any reason to think that a mindset which diagnoses a transportation requirement and responds with a therapy which is less than " mission specific " will treat YOUR diagnosis with a different philosophical conceptual reference? " Immunity " is defined as a state of " unsusceptibility " . I propose that the decision making abilities of doctors may be revealed by their " unsuscepibility " to logic in allowing a subjectively dictated course of action to take precedence over the most effective transportation solution. This may be referred to as " Doctorcompetency Evidenced by Auto-immune Disease " : DEAD. Example: " I wouldn't be caught DEAD in that car " -
