Guest guest
My husband bought a great used mazda, nice smooth shifter, all black two years ago. He tells me now, that when he bought it, he noticed little sticks in the air vents. Since then, Ive become chemically sensitive and his car is becoming a problem. The black in the heat is offgassing the fragrances. We have used an ozone machine away from the house and a fan, running the ozone throught the vents. that actually cuts the fragrance entirely! The next hot day brings up all the smells again. He showers and bags his clothes as soon as he comes into the house - is this the besst answer (other than changing cars of course)
Guest guest
, By " sticks in the air vents " , I assume you mean the openings in front of the windshield. Like the car had been regularly parked under a tree. Such rotting vegetation can grow significant mold, which can then contaminate the heater/air conditioner. Some cars however have a filter to help this situation. But these filters need changing yearly, or mold will grow through the filter and cause the same problem. By changing this filter, if your car has one, your problem may disappear.
