Are you referring to particle board? ...if not what and where did you

find it...at store locally, on the web, through a contractor, etc.

Thanks

I called around locally, and a few places had it....its like normal insulation,

but white, not pink. Home depot didnt, but Fallsburgh lumber did, just a mom and

pop, they say they have a lot of call fo rit now. http://www.jm.com/

I used same for my ceiling which was just repaired from the water leak.

However the insulation material has in huge print " it's flammable (the paper

portion) " and must be carefully installed and kept away from all possible

flammable sources. So contractor would have to be very careful where this

is installed and if installed in possible fire hazard area (electrical

wiring, gas heaters, etc) must be covered properly.

Ours was bought at local Home Depot.

Rosie,

The only thing I know of that has formaldehyde and glue in it is

particle board which probably wouldn't be going in ceiling or is it?

Is this material with non toxic glue in it somethingthing lighter

weight like drywall, or used in place of drywall, or is it a board of

some sort used in place of particle board?

Thanks

Still looking for a mold free insulation. A stick built house is a

traditionally built house out of wood framing. Maybe those cement type houses

would be better, but no contractors around here do it, and the one house like

that to be built here cost a fortune. The insulation I am looking at now is

Miraflex, has no formaldehyde, and no glue, and does not irritate the lungs, so

I would put it at least in the crawl space and attic, so I can go there to

inspect for water frequently, don't know if it can be put in the walls. It is

hard to earn a PHD in building science with the day drawing near to break ground

on my hopefully mold free house. Thanks to the email a few days ago about the

change in building codes for crawl spaces in NC, I now know my design for my

crawl space is correct. At first my builder thought I was crazy when I said I

wanted to close my crawl space up in the spring and summer, and Install a stand

alone de-humidifier. Now after we have designed a slabed min- basement above

grade, slanted to a drain, exactly what they are recommending in NC,I feel so

validated, what a great feeling. Thanks for all the great info on the group.
