Guest guest
Dear all, In a collaboration between Global Strategies for HIV Prevention and Sahaya International, a comprehensive set of HIV awareness cartoons has been developed for India. The powerpoint file can be downloaded for free from the following website: http://womenchildrenhiv.org/ Scroll down to about half the page, and then select the file " Myths and facts about HIV/AIDS: A practical guide to prevention, health and life " . Alternatively if you like to have it e-mailed to you, please contact me (kkvanrompay@...), but keep in mind: the file is big (about 5.7 MB). Please take a look at them. The cartoons can be printed out to use for your program, for example as flip-charts. Our eventual goal is to also have this printed as pocket-size booklets for wide distribution (for which we are still seeking sponsors, so if you work for a funding agency, please contact us if this interests you). Currently the cartoons are accompanied by English text, but we really want to have it translated in the main Indian languages so the cartoons can be used in many communities. So we are looking for volunteers. a). We don't have money to pay for the translation, so it will be 100% volunteerism. Because the amount of text is limited, translation should only take a few hours. . For each language, we hope to find a team of a few dedicated people, who can work on it together (including at least 1-2 people per team who have knowledge about HIV/AIDS to assure proper translation). c). The volunteers should work directly on the powerpoint file (by replacing the English text), so they should have access to a computer with the proper Indian characters. d). What we offer the volunteers: their name will be acknowledged on the last slide of the powerpoint file of their respective language, and they receive all our sincere thanks. e). The final products will be made available for free from a number of web sites. If this interests you, and you like to help and make a difference in the combat against the HIV epidemic, please e-mail me! Koen Van Rompay Sahaya International www.sahaya.org e-mail: kkvanrompay@...
