Avert Society has been set up for managing the USAID supported $41.5 million HIV/AIDS prevention project in Maharashtra, Avert Society, in close collaboration with the Maharashtra State AIDS Control Society (MSACS), Mumbai District AIDS Control Society (MDACS), National AIDS Control Organisation (NACO) and Hindustan Latex Family Planning Promotion Trust (HLFPPT) works to reduce the impact of HIV/AIDS in the State. The Society proposes to recruit the following personnel to implement the project. ADDITIONAL PROJECT DIRECTOR Additional Project Director of the Society will be the team leader of the unit with over all responsibility for the procurement operations. Additional Project Director will be accountable to the Project Director. Key Responsibilities: To provide direction to the technical team of the project to achieve results in the specific areas. The important role for the position includes providing leadership to the technical team members; strategic planning and management of programme areas; partner selection and capacity building; team building and coordination with stakeholders. The ideal candidate should be a post-graduate in Social Sciences, public health, management and related fields from an institute of repute. The person should have at least 10 years’ experience in the social sector of which 3 to 5 years at managerial level experience working in Health Sector preferably in the field of HIV/AIDS. The person should be able to visualize, identify, plan, develop and implement HIV/AIDS related programmes at district and sub-district levels and liaison with senior government officials as well as at the grass root level NGOs are essential GRANT, PROCUREMENT AND AUDIT OFFICER The Grant, Procurement and Audit Officer will assist the Finance Manager in all the matters relating to the selection of sub-grantees, procurement of goods and services and conducting pre-audit off all transactions of all accounting records before financial review. The person will ensure that the day to day operations as specified in the Management Systems for Avert Society are fully complied with in consultation with his/her superiors. Key Responsibilities: One point contact for all matters relating to sub-grantees (as regards to selection of sub-grantees, financial transactions etc.), Reports from sub-grantees, analysis, etc; Pre-audit of all transactions of Avert Society, Procurement of goods and services and Selection of Consultants. The ideal candidate should be M.Com (Accounts) or Inter-CA with at least 5 years working experience, preferably with a funding agency involving financial reporting and grant management with bilateral and multilateral agencies. Additionally the candidate should be a team player with proven multi-tasking skills and a proactive attitude. The positions are senior level and would involve fair amount of travel within the State. The positions are on contract basis for 2 years, extendable, based on performance evaluation. Compensation will match the best in the development sector.
