From my experience and observations, this is not true. What is true is you will likely stop gatining uncontrollably like a hypothyroid person tends to do before getting medicated. When your thyroid med is optimized, the tendency if you eat normally (pre-hypothyroid) is to maintain stable weight. But the other side of that coin is that postmeno, growth hormone goes down, and the older one gets, the more oxidative and inflammatory stress contribute to the likelihood of becoming insulin resistant if overweight so the person eats but gains little energy from what they eat. More EXERCISE like walk walk walk daily helps to reverse that pattern. The challenge is getting into motion, getting out the door with the walking shoes on. A body at rest tends to stay at rest. A body in motion tends to stay in motion. :-) Carol willis_protocols
