Guest guest
Hi all, From what I have read Valcyte is similar to as Valtrex but it is much more bioavailable. When Valcyte goes into the body it is quickly converted into the same substance as Valtrex, that being valganciclovir.... they are essentially the same thing but Valcyte is way stronger. Please don't take this as medical advice or information, i'm just a lay person who has read about it....the above is just my understanding of what I have read. I consulted with Dr. Montoya who said that Valtrex works on Epstein- Barr and HHV6 but it just takes a lot longer. He said nothing about Cytomeglovirus (which I also have) I'd like to remind all that we have a group devoted to Valcyte. Here's the link: Valcyte/. Look on the left column (in blue or green) for files and links. You will find lots of info, i.e. the pharmaceutical information about Valcyte, Dr. Lerner's website, Dr. Montoya's information, etc. I have been on Valcyte for 3 months now and all of a sudden I am getting deathly sick. I can hardly stand it but I'm trying to tough it out. I am hoping I will get better soon, as I've read that some people get pretty sick around 2-3 months then start to feel better. Wish me luck! Sincerely, Jody
