Guest guest
In regards to the current discussion, I have extreme difficulty dealing with emotional stress, like deadlines, arguments, uncertainty. When I already feel bad, even very minor stress is much more harmful to me than it is to other people. This is a really devastating symptom for me. I lose jobs because if I have a deadline, I concentrate terribly and end up not being able to work at all, and that carries over for long after the deadline (if I'm still working), because the job becomes " stressful " to me. As the rest of the classic CFS symptoms I have get better (e.g. headaches, eye pain, post-exertional fatigue, unrestful sleep, insomnia, muscle aches, etc.), this gets better too. Minor stressors that used to overwhelm me are easily dealt with. I wasn't like this before I got sick, either; I used to thrive on stress and deadlines before, producing my best work against the gun. I feel as if some people on this list feel threatened by the fact that I have this symptom, because it might lead credence to the bad theories of various researchers. But understanding this symptom was critical to my understanding why 5-HTP is so important to me, and 5-HTP has helped me far beyond this one symptom. I have big doubts that the amygdala-retraining would be beyond the " little helper " category, at least for me, because in general the stress-response symptoms that I have have improved more with general health improvements. But I really don't want the subject of stress-response to be taboo here. It's a symptom that I (and I imagine others here) have, and I can't ignore it, even if certain bad researchers use it to promote incorrect and damaging theories about CFS. Guest guest
Hi there I hate to bring the Lightning Process back into the discussion but just have to having read the Amygdala retraining which is so complicated when the LP will do it for you so easily. Using the LP I have got my life back, how often did I read that of treatments which I tried that never worked for me until I nearly gave up hope. It does seem that anything that addresses the stress response is a taboo on this site however if you get that under control it is amazing how everything else starts to improve quite quickly, allergies ect. I have had abuse thrown at me and even been told I must be delusional if I think the LP actually works,[ if that is so bring on more delusions. No wonder Phil refuses to answer question on this brain training programme]. Interrupting that over the top response to every little stressor is the key to getting the body back to normality. No drugs needed. Regards n
