Guest guest Posted February 29, 2004 Report Share Posted February 29, 2004 Scholarship money has been made available through the 15th International Conference on the Reduction of Drug Related Harm (15th ICRDRH) for people who use/inject illicit drugs to attend the conference. Please note this money is designated solely for people who use/inject illicit drugs and/or are consumers of drug treatment services. The management of this scholarship process is being undertaken by the Australian Injecting and Illicit Drug Users League (AIVL), Australia's national drug user organisation. Scholarship Application Process The conference organisers are pleased to announce that there is an amount of money being made available to assist drug user representatives to attend the conference. As the event is being held in Australia, the Australian Injecting and Illicit Drug Users League, (AIVL) is managing the application process. The actual allocation of the money is being managed by the conference organisers. If you are interested in attending the conference and require financial assistance please send your application to Nickyb@... <mailto:Nickyb@...> and cc the application to jude@... <mailto:jude@...> by 3rd March 2004. It is vital that you include in your application: - Your contact details - Why you want to attend the conference - Abstract details - Have you been to an international harm reduction conference before? - What do you need the money for? - Where else are you obtaining funding from? Criteria AIVL will allocate the money using the following guidelines: 1. The applicant has submitted and has had accepted an abstract (please send confirmation of successful abstract with application) 2. The applicant has obtained some financial assistance from other sources 3. How many times the applicant has previously attended the international harm reduction conference In addition the following will influence the process of allocating the funds: 1. That there is representation by as many countries as possible 2. Countries traditionally not represented will receive greater consideration Applicants will be informed of the outcome of the application process by the 5th March 2004. At this time applicants details will be forwarded to the conference organisers who are managing the allocation process. Please note that AIVL is only managing the application process and will not have any role in the sending of money, arranging flights and accommodation or conference registrations.
