I agree , but only if you mean it in regards to CAUSING CFS/ME.

Thoughts, emotions, behavior have certainly been shown to affect

almost ANY disease after or while

one has it.

**Be careful with such notions as they can quickly drift into nonsense

land, not to suggest you're doing this. Alterations in thought and

behavior might " affect " your relationship(ie, a better emotional

reaction) to a disease you have, but it's actual pathology(the source

of the core misery, dysfunction and pain), no. This has never been

proven can happen in any serious disease from Lupus, MS, Parkinson's,

Cancer, actual CFS, etc..

If that weren't the case, then we'd all be able to handle any sort of

emotional or physical stressor with no problem, whereas meditation,

active resting, etc., may be beneficial to some of us...maybe not all,

but some. We could party all night, stay up for days without it

affecting our health.

**The point to this list though is not " little helpers " , but focus on

remission possible treatments that this training is being promoted as.

Gupta is not claiming " little helper " status for this, he's claiming

a cure for actual CFS, but with no data to support he has or can

accomplished this.

***There's no scientific data to support them as causal in CFS. Core

CFS pathology and it's symptoms will not be conquered by treatments

aimed at altering these things.

That's where his theory is kind of double talk.

**Yes. It's a form of CBT, whether he denies this or not. CFS is a

psychologically driven illness in his view, which is common for UK

health practitioners and those making $$$ off not drawing a clear

distinction between CF and CFS, which is a completely different animal.

He first says " that ME/CFS, and Fibromyalgia are conditions that are

essentially caused and perpetuated by a brain structure called the

amygdala. " Then in the next paragraph he backtracks, saying that some

sort of stressor combined with " a virus, or bacterial infection, or

something else " causes a trauma in the amygdala. So...it's the

virus, bacteria, mold, pesticide, chemicals, and/or a combo of

several...that cause the amygdala to overreact or dysfunction...

**But in psychiatry, the functional activity of the amygdala is

considered to be driven by the prefrontal cortex(the thinking and

thought process part of our brain) AND his treatment is focused on

this aspect, so guess what he really thinks is the cause of CFS while

paying lip service to these other things to suspend your disbelief?
